Warning signs of a fake job

- The pay is far higher than similar jobs, for very little work or experience.
- You are offered the job without an interview, or pushed to decide immediately.
- They ask for your MoMo PIN, bank details or Ghana Card before you have met them.
- They only communicate by WhatsApp or phone and will not give a company address.
- The job is abroad and they want money for visas, flights or "processing".

- Check the employerLook up the company name, visit their shop or office, and ask people who know them. Real businesses have a real address.
- Meet in public firstGo to interviews at the workplace or a busy public place during the day, and tell a friend or family member where you are going.
- Protect your detailsNever share your MoMo PIN, bank password or copies of your Ghana Card until you have a genuine written offer.
For customers hiring artisans
- Look for the verified badgeWe check every artisan against their Ghana Card before their profile goes live. Only verified profiles show the badge.
- Read reviews and see past workLook at what other customers say and at photos of the artisan鈥檚 previous jobs before you decide.
- Agree everything firstAgree the price, materials and finish date before work starts. Write it down or send it by WhatsApp so you both have a record.
- Pay after the work is doneFor small jobs, pay when the work is finished. For big jobs, pay a small deposit for materials and the rest when you are satisfied.
